What the app does, and what it does not.
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These terms govern the use of the TachoPro app, published by GLSolution. Installing the app means accepting them. This is a translation of the French original, which prevails.
In short. TachoPro is a decision aid. The tachograph, the driver card and the documents required at a check remain the only enforceable records; the times, thresholds and amounts shown by the app are estimates.
1. Purpose
TachoPro reads the data of your driver card and tachograph, calculates your driving, work and rest times under Regulation (EC) 561/2006, archives your .ddd files, estimates your allowances under the French CCNTR and offers guidance suited to heavy vehicles.
The app is intended for professional drivers and those who follow their activity. It is neither an enforcement device, nor a fleet-management tool, nor payroll software.
2. Access and cost
TachoPro is distributed free of charge on Google Play. This version has no in-app purchases and no subscription.
The app may display advertising. Where applicable, your choice is collected at first launch by Google's consent form (UMP) and can be changed at any time from the “Privacy and data” screen.
Data downloads, mobile plan and hardware needed remain at your expense.
3. What you need to use it
An Android 8.0 (API 26) phone or newer. Depending on the modules enabled: Bluetooth for the link with a smart tachograph V2, a USB or Bluetooth card reader for card reading, location for guidance.
Each module can be enabled and disabled from Preferences. A refused permission only affects the feature concerned: refusing location does not prevent reading a card.
4. Your commitments
- Use the app only with data you legitimately hold — your own driver card, or those your employer authorises you to process;
- not handle the phone while driving: guidance is set up while stopped;
- not circumvent, decompile or divert the app, and not use it to falsify activity data;
- report on the map only what you have actually observed.
5. Scope and limits
TachoPro's calculations rely on the data read. A card not downloaded, a missing period, an absent manual entry or a changed rule may skew them. Always check with your employer or the texts in force before making a driving or pay decision.
Truck guidance relies on open map data, which may be incomplete or out of date. Road signs on the ground always prevail: a height, weight or prohibition posted at the roadside overrides what the screen shows.
The app is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability of the map, address-search or route-calculation services, which depend on a network and on servers.
6. Liability
GLSolution cannot be held liable for the consequences of a decision taken solely on the basis of what the app displays: a penalty recorded at a check, a pay deduction, a delay, or damage occurring during a guided trip. The publisher's liability cannot be engaged beyond what the law requires, and the rights you hold as a consumer remain intact.
7. Traffic reports
The reports you file on the map are shared with other drivers. By filing them, you authorise GLSolution to distribute them within that framework. You can withdraw yours from the app. A clearly false or abusive report may be deleted.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its code, its screens and its brand belong to GLSolution. Installation grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use; it transfers no ownership right to you.
Map data comes from OpenStreetMap and its contributors, under the ODbL licence. Route calculation relies on Valhalla and display on MapLibre, both open source. Address search relies on Photon (open-source software by Komoot), which we host on our own servers.
Your driving data, your .ddd files and your expense sheets remain yours. See the privacy policy.
9. Personal data
The processing of your data is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms. Your rights of access, rectification and erasure are exercised from the “Privacy and data” screen, or with tachopro@glsolution.fr.
10. Changes and termination
The app evolves: features appear, others change. A modification that affects your rights or the nature of the service is presented to you in the app, and your agreement is requested again.
You end these terms by uninstalling the app, which erases the data it keeps on the device. Remember to export what you want to keep first.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of difficulty, write first to tachopro@glsolution.fr: most matters are settled there. Failing agreement, the dispute falls to the competent courts, it being understood that, as a consumer, you keep the benefit of the protective rules of your country of residence.
